Education mutiny

I assume by now we are all aware formal education is obsolete, but just so we’re all on the same page -or even if you disagree you know where I’m coming from-, here are Cecilia Tham, MOB’s Mastermind, on the maker movement and Sir Ken Robinson on the education revolution.

Both Cecilia’s and Sir Ken Robinson’s talks have been really helpful to pinpoint and define what is wrong with formal education, but we haven’t figured out yet is that the faster way to change education is not by a reform. Universities, colleges and other types of formal education institutions are the ones who stand to gain the most from the current academic model because it creates the common impression that you need some sort of stamp of approval (college degree) to tell you who you are and what you can do, and so having a college degree is becoming the norm so if you don’t get one it will create this feeling of
